The story of the Peacemaker is about a visionary and his journey to create a prosperous society after centuries of intertribal wars. This is the origen story of the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) Confederacy, one of the eldest democracies we know of. Their highly developed democratic governance and argumentation skills made a huge impression on the European intellectuals during the colonization. In fact, without the Haudenosaunee people, the European Enlightenment would not have existed! Still, there are crucial elements in this story that the Western World forgot to 'copypaste'... We can learn a lot more from the people of the Longhouse.

Our current times are crucial for the future of humanity. We are living in a fragile era full of possibilities and risks. These are the times to question structures and narratives. Which ones are helping us forward and which ones belong to the past? These are the years in which all sorts of violence and oppression are
coming to the light. The revelations are asking us to come up with alternatives. Not just one but many. In different shapes and forms. Let´s experiment and learn from each other. How to work well together and how to push democracy to its next level? Let´s secure our future from the ground up.
